Inheritance Tax Planning: IHT Portfolio

When it comes to inheritance tax planning, our Inheritance Tax Portfolio Service has been designed to provide a means of potentially reducing a possible Inheritance Tax (IHT) liability. It will also enable you to retain full control and ability to access your portfolio at any time if your circumstances change.

This will involve an investment into a selection of smaller companies which may fall in value, therefore there is no guarantee that it will increase the inheritance even with the tax savings

How Does The Inheritance Tax Portfolio Service Work?

A liability to inheritance tax can be reduced through investment in a diversified portfolio of companies which qualify for Business Property Relief. Provided these assets are held for at least 2 years, they previously became wholly exempt from inheritance tax. Following the October 2024 budget, these investments from April 2026 will now only attract a 50% relief from IHT.

Most Alternative Investments (AIM) listed shares qualify for Business Property Relief. Investing in a portfolio of AIM listed shares (securities) can mitigate Inheritance Tax, whilst still allowing access to capital if needed.

How we manage this for you

The portfolio is managed on a discretionary basis and the investment decisions will be made by one of our experiencedinvestment experts.
We believe that a commitment to a portfolio such as this is an important investment decision and should not be entered into without fully understanding the risks involved.

For this reason, we do not accept contributions without first discussing your inheritance tax planning requirements. Our team is always 100% transparent about the potential risks and rewards of each investment opportunity.
Please note, listed shares on the AIM (alternative investment market) incur a higher level of investment risk and therefore the IHT portfolio will require a greater appetite for risk.
